eMAGIN X800 3DVisor Brings Personal Theatre to CES

BELLEVUE, Wash. and LAS VEGAS, Jan 3, 2006 – eMagin Corporation (AMEX:EMA), a leader in personal display systems, wants to turn your PC into your personal theatre.

Ideal for personal entertainment, the X800 3DVisor also supports 2D and 3D games as well as a wide range of design programs. It can be used as the primary display, or as a private monitor with a laptop. The X800 offers users a large-screen experience in a portable display: watching a DVD on the X800 is like viewing it on a 105-inch screen at twelve feet but with stereovision capability. It draws its power from any standard USB port with no additional power sources. Using it instead of the laptop's standard monitor will substantially improve battery life. Completing the X800's personal theatre experience is an integrated audio system with stereo earbuds and a built-in noise-canceling microphone.

"The PC is turning into an entertainment hub with PocketPCs and handheld personal entertainment devices acting as satellites. As this trend continues, the need for a large-screen viewing experience will grow," said Susan Jones, executive vice president and chief marketing officer, eMagin Corporation. "Our X800 enables users to work or play in complete privacy. You can enjoy your favorite DVDs or games on a large screen. And the 3DVisor can deliver frame-sequential 3D. It's an ideal display for users who do not need the head-tracking capability of the Z800 3DVisor."

At the heart of the X800, two eMagin SVGA 3D OLED displays deliver high speed, high-resolution (800 X 3 X 600), high-color imagery. Because OLED materials emit light, the displays are thinner and lighter than conventional LCDs, and they also require less power, permitting this product to operate without a need for added battery packs or power adapters. These displays offer higher contrast and a wider dispersion of light, making them more comfortable to view and usable for near-eye applications. eMagin's 3D OLED displays recognize and deliver left-eye and right-eye stereovision signals with unsurpassed efficiency. Color pixel data is buffered under each pixel site, eliminating flicker and smear.

The eMagin X800 3DVisor will be available in the first quarter of 2006. List price is $799 USD. The company will also make the technology available for customization by OEMs. For more information on eMagin and its products, customers can visit www.emagin.com.
